Underperforming Seniors
It seems to me that Illinois seniors have recently just underperformed. In both basketball and football, the years we are supposed to compete we flop. Last years football team wasn't going to be that good but we did come up with a Bowl win. Why is this. They all have been noble citizens and fan favorites. Are they put on a pedestal after their freshman or sophomore year that they are not able to perform to expectations? Do we blame Weber or Zook. What is the problem? I think Illinois should be able to compete in football and basketball every year. Last year in football and Basketball would be bad years in my book. Why do we just settle for this mediocrity? Do I have this team to high of a pedestal?

I don't know.
I thought the football season ended up pretty good for a team with a freshman as their starting QB. As for the basketball team, I thought it was more than just the seniors. In my opinion the season didn’t turn out as expected because of the sophomores failing to continue their development more so than the seniors underperforming.

I co-sign all of the above.
Sure, the basketball seniors weren’t spectacular. And the football seniors were also learning a new scheme, really on both sides of the ball, and 7-6 doing that is nothing short of a miracle.

And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
Hopefully we can keep that miracle alive and increase that win amount.
For both teams. Plus, there are really no seniors to disappoint us on the basketball team! Unless you’ll be disappointed by a down year from Maniscalco. Which I don’t think I’ll be able to be, since I’ve never seen him play.

I agree on the football end.
last year we were not expecting much from them and they did good. The basketball team had two draft-able seniors in Davis and Mccamey and they stunk it up later in the season.
