Big Ten Media Days: Day 1 Part 2
Well I am currently stuffing my gills with lunch while I listen to the dulcimer tones of Mark Dantonio as he waxes poetic of his spectacular place kicker and punter. Due to the talks with Zook I was unable to see any of the Rich Rod stuff. Which is disappointing given that he is the only coach that has never beaten coach Zook in conference, and I would have loved to see him squirm from his beat writers asking him how many games he needs to win to save his job.
and just like that, it is time to see Bill Lynch, the best car salesmen I have ever seen coach a D1 football team.
As Bill Lynch says, "we were only 12 plays away from having an outstanding season and playing in a great bowl." Could he possibly be alluding to the fact that his team blowing 4th quarter leads to both Michigan and Iowa? Probably not.
I'll admit I am not too terribly interested in Lynch's opening statement this year, but I am pretty sure he just listed his entire starting 11 for both sides. Thank you Bill, but I think I will just consult the roster next time.
As Mike Hall has pointed out, Indiana has the #1 easiest schedule in the nation. Take that WKU
Now Bill Lynch is telling us how different the Indiana Memorial Stadium is a very different experience, a new scoreboard for instance.
I cannot stand the uncomfortable moments between the end of the opening statement and the first question to asked of the coach. In that endless silence, it always crosses my mind that "what if no one has anything to ask Danny Hope?" Feelings of pity for a millionaire who gets to coach football for a living are fleeting though.

No one bothered to tell Bill Lynch . . .
that Tom Crean is a better football coach than him. Probably because very few Indiana alumni really care.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
