Another opportunity lost: Illini lose to Ohio State 73-57
It isn't like the Illini didn't have their chances. Fairly late in the game the Illini were still very much alive score wise. With four minutes to go, the Illini were only down by five points. The fact that they did not score a single point from then on is the reason the Illini lost this game.
The Illini missed from mid-range, they missed from deep, and Mike Davis even missed a dunk from point blank.
Without Mike Tisdale down the stretch the Illini did not have the same flow to the offense that they did with him in. Eight points in the final eight minutes will not allow you to come back on many teams, least of all a team that features the likely NPOY.
I'll have some more well developed thoughts on this tomorrow, as I am quite exhausted. But suffice to say, Senior Day against Wisconsin just got important. Thermo-nuclear important.

Next year, when we're in the top 20 for most if not all season . . .
we’re gonna look back at this and laugh about how much of a struggle this season was.
But right now, this kinda blows.
The Big Ten Tournament can’t get here soon enough.

Do you really think that Turner will be NPOY?
I feel like many of the media types have already anointed John Wall with that distinction, although I think Turner deserves it more.
