Illinois out, ND a 6
I am a Penn State fan who feels your pain. When I saw ND got a 6 seed, I decided to compare Illinois' resume to that of Notre Dame.

Very interesting analysis indeed.
Makes you wonder if there’s a Big East bias . . . nyuk nyuk nyuk . . .
In all fairness, after they went on a tear in the Big East tournament, I pretty much had Notre Dame’s name written in marker . . . but they’ve got to be the weakest 6 seed of the four.
The Throwdown Lowdown, only on The Bluenote Zone . . . I punch you hard.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
ND also played a significant portion of the season
without Harongody… its a different evaluation in my opinion

Doesn't sit well with me
I completely understand this point and think it’s somewhat valid, but it still amounts to, “They would have totally done better if only different people were playing.” By that logic, why not give Northwestern a 5 seed if Coble had been cleared to play Sunday morning?
Reach out; touch faith.
umm...
because Harongody is back and playing and Coble was definitively out for the season
same thing with the hummel injury, Purdue shouldn’t be a 2 seed when its shown they’re not the same team without Hummel

it is the same reason this is done by committee and just by RPI and other quantifiable statistics
The committee is tasked with placing the 34 best teams available in the tournament and seeding them from best to worst. The seeding then should not be considered necessarily as a reward for a good season, but that good season should rather be seen as evidence of that team’s quality, all the while considering factors like strength of schedule in determining this.
Based on the recent evidence, Purdue without Hummel is at best a 4 seed. Notre Dame, with Harangody back. at least according to the committee will perform at the level of a 6 seed.
At least that’s how I think it works, there is a reason they don’t let anyone inside of the smoke filled NCAA committee room.
