Bruce Weber said he is prepared to offer guidance to guard Demetri McCamey should the junior decide he wants to test the NBA waters after the season.

Weber said he has talked with his assistant coaches about the prospect and suspects that McCamey might be interested if he continues his rapid improvement.

"I’m sure it will come up if he has a great finish," Weber said. "We’ve talked about it as a staff. If a kid wants that, I’ll help them. But I want to make sure they do it in the right process and go through the right channels and understand what the process is about. If we get to that position, I’ll sit down and talk to him and his mom and explaint it and make sure he has the right options."

This is the first time I could say with any real credibility that it could happen.I am equally surprised, happy and frightened about what would happen next year though.

Nooooooooo!!!

I’m not coach, but I really think he could use one more year. And the majority of this is based off my own selfish reasons. But I think for defensive and consistency purposes, another year would suit him good.

But if he is projected as a lottery pick, I can’t blame him for leaving. Anything else, he should come back.

I really

can’t see him as a lottery pick right now. Next year, though…

Bart: Wow. How many home runs you gonna hit with that thing?
Homer: Let's see... We play thirty games. Ten at-bats a game. Mm...three thousand.

Whether he's a lottery pick or not . . .

he’s got a good shot of leaving after this season. He’s pretty good and stuff.

If he leaves...

The Illini are boned. We have nobody near capable enough to replace him.
