Big Ten no longer actively seeking expansion
As per ESPN:

The Big Ten has concluded a year-long study on conference expansion, and seems to be content with adding Nebraska. They will continue to look at the landscape of college sports but will no longer be actively seeking expansion.
Most of us have seen this coming. There was a bit of conference shuffling this year, but not the major shake-up that some people were predicting. It looks like the Big Ten does not want to be the leader (instigator?) in totally changing the face of college athletics. Obviously, if the other big conferences start to make moves, then the Big Ten will follow suit, but for now they seem to be content with a wait-and-see approach and not force the issue.

And I think it's probably for the better.
The Big Ten has never been known to rock any boats, so why would they want to start now?
They’re not the Big East, they of the 16 (soon to be 17) team conglomerate of basketball that ensures they get at least half their conference in every tournament, even if they’re overhyped like they often are. They’re not the Big XII, bleeding members because all they want to do is be cash pals with Tejas. They’re not the SEC, letting people pay for players right in front of the open public and being unable to do a Goddamn thing about it. The Big Ten, while certainly not perfect, looks like they want to be a stable identifier of how to run a major athletic conference.
St. Louis Game Time . . . I need another beer.
And I can also write things in 140 characters or fewer.
