Duck And Cover Guys: We Are Heading To The Bunker. Illini lose to Northwestern

11_medium

There is going to be quite a bit of fall out from this. The Illini are officially in desperation mode. With the lead at 7 in the second half the Illini had a chance to take the game out of reach from the Wildcats. Four very key empty possessions

Then Northwestern went on its run. And the Illini were flailing about completely out of control. The meltdown featured a huge let down of a shot clock violation and a Shurna 3. At minimum it could have been a 1 point bonus to NU, but it ended up being where the Illini lost the whole thing.

This is not the post game. I don't think I really have my mind wrapped around the whole thing yet. But no this. Now the Illini are desperate. For serious. March is in jeopardy.

I'll take the blame here.

The hockey game I was watching went into the 2nd intermission when the Illini were up by 7. When I switched back to the game after intermission, NU was up by 4. Fuck my luck.

We are not a good team

How do you fucking have a shot clock violation like that out of a timeout!?! So terrible. DAVIS PUT UP A GOOSE EGG! At this point, we’ll be lucky if we make it to the NIT. So so so so so so bad.
