The Linking Illini is back from the dead
Sorry for the absence there but as happens from time to time real life gets in the way of blogging, but you can't keep me away from it for long. So, not much happened since Friday right? Zook and Urban Meyer were in the middle of a duel of coach speak to the death, Camp was just wrapping up, and the team had lost an important play maker on defense. Lets get to the links!

Illini football's Hardeman ready for 'one big hit' -- chicagotribune.com
Hopefully, that one big hit will be delivered to Evan Royster in week three and that it doesn't reaggravate his neck injury. After Martez, I think it is pretty clear that Donsay is the most important player on this Illini defense. The look of the defense is completely different with him at safety, and he will be depended upon for alot of Pass D this year.Coach Ron Zook proclaims practices in Rantoul a success -- chicagotribune.com
Not that we assumed it to be a complete and utter failure, but yes I suppose it is nice to hear that some important players fell victim to fall-camp-itis, the working in of several new coaches and rookie players seems to have gone off with out a hitch. -
Ron Zook patches things up with Urban Meyer -- chicagotribune.com
I am gone for 2 days and the whole world goes soft on me? Zook and Meyer have a "heart to heart" and now everything is cool? Whatever, I wish I could say that this will be the end of Zook catching flack for his time at Florida, but if it hasn't after 2 BCS championships and 4 seasons having gone by, why should it. Maybe it will stop coming from the top, but you can believe that many of the media types know that Zook bashing is a sure way to get attention from the fans.

Zook and Meyer didn't patch things up.
Zook just told Meyer to remember where his first national title came from.
One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.
