Advice for a visitng Michigan fan.
Hello all. I'm considering making the trip from Chicago to catch Michigan at Illinois and was looking for some gameday advice. (Other than "get bent.")
If you can find it in your heart, I'm curious to know:
- What section do the visiting fans primarily sit in?
- Any must-sees on game-day in Chambana?
- Interesting stories or other worthwhile advice also apreciated.
- Insults are expected. Comments along the lines of "3-9 dur, dur." have all been heard before.

Welcome to the site.
IIRC, the visitor’s section is on the south-east corner of the stadium. (Which I have just confirmed, see the seating chart here.)
Also take a look at this site for parking info (you can also download the football event guide and parking map). Be warned, you will definitely want to get there very early or find alternative transportation as parking is a big hassle on game days. I always suggest that visitors park in lots B-1 or B-22, which are at the far north end of campus (farthest from Memorial Stadium that you can get), as there is a $2 bus that runs right along those lots on game days. You can park in these lots on weekends (for free) without a parking pass.
Attend any of the campus bars at your own risk ;-). I prefer the downtown Champaign bars for post-game. Try the Blind Pig, has the best beer selection in town.
