Around SBN: Off Tackle Empire interviews Rich Rodriguez

Sigh, Mike Davis breaks ankle in practice.

Its the middle of June, and we have a basketball story, is there ever any good basketball news in June?

Once again one of the most talented and promising players on the basketball team has suffered an off season injury. Last year it was Mike Tisdale, with his leg surgery, this year its Mike Davis with a broken ankle. According to ESPN, Davis broke his foot while preparing for the World University Games, and will more than likely miss the event as a result of the injury. Doctors say only six to eight weeks for recovery, so it should not interfere with the season at all, but even so, is it ever good to have the player who is going to playing 32 minutes a game to miss any time with a foot injury? Probably not.

As I said earlier, Tis had an off season surgery last year, I think even closer to the start of the season, and he still made huge steps forward in physical conditioning and skill. So in the end this may not even be that big a deal, I just would rather not have to write this at all.

Meh.

I’ll be worried if his production drops.

Call me optimistic, though.
