Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

Ron Zook's Twitter, he is just a man, after all.

Look I love taking pot shots at celebrities, people who live above the laws of man, who's sole purpose in life is to entertain me until I grow tired of them. Making fun of the famous is second nature to Americans, its what makes blogging so easy, it makes my meaningless life seem less so. The entire sarcastic sports blog structure is based upon this premise, because they are even slightly famous, our figures of irreverence are fair game.

Now Twitter is threatening all of that.more difficult. By letting me take a peak into their daily life, Twitter has forced me to consider that the shadowy figures behind the blackberry might actually be...human.

It all started a couple weeks ago when Black Heart Gold Pants, who is generally better at this than me, uncovered a series of tweets(?) that were less than coherant. The explanation, which came a day or so later, was that Zook and some of his coaches had been playing with his new phone and accidentally posted the messages to Twitter.

I could not help but be reminded of my dad asking me to explain why he would ever need to use a text message, or having to come to terms with my grandma joining "the faces book." Point is it made me think that Zook isn't the iron pumping, magical football being that had once envisioned, which also makes me think I shouldn't call him an imbecile when we try an on side kick coming out of halftime.

Titans of college football dont have thoughts like "cant believe how much rain we got. hope farmers are ok." He tells the farmers that he is tired of their shit and to suck it up.

He gets fired up by watching his players to do power squats, not "Just got off the floor of Chicago Mercantile exchange watch some Illini grad.trade corn and soybeans Unbelievable intensity" Unbelievable intensity? Zook is supposed to, from what I have read on the internet, think only in terms of tackling running, kicking and passing. How can bushels of corn compare to horse collar tackles?

"Can't believe my daughter gradulated from Illinois already.Go Illini" when I read this sort  of tweet(?) it makes me realize that Ron Zook is a mortal man, subject to the same human flaws of spelling that I am.  He is a man with a stressful high paying job, kids in college and a fairly normal family. Twitter makes this hard to ignore, and I will never forgive them for it.

Ron Zook . . .

will always piss intensity and excellence in my book.

Oh, and I thought that anecdote from BHGP was just absolutely brilliantly hilarious! Is there a running poll on which assistant coach might have done that? My money’s on Dan Disch.
