Hey! Illini Spring football is this weekend!

Hey, just because I don't know how the thing is scored doesn't mean I can't pretend to know better. (I'm a blogger, its my job to pretend to know more about sports than I actually do.) Yes the Spring game has finally arrived, and like the professional sports observer I am, I will be there in the student section, far and away from any sort of journalistic "access". No, apparently the DIA does not yet recognize this blog as the vital cog in the Illini propaganda machine that it is, and thus I have to buy my ticket like the rest of the student proletariat.

Now since my large Blog budget has not yet allowed for the purchase of an iPhone, and I don't think Memorial Stadium has Wifi just yet (at least not in the student section) so alas I will not be leading the liveblog. But I am depending on all of you to make this go. This is the first real football event of Hail to the Orange, and I want all of the lurkers who read this to join in on the Liveblog at 1pm.

Come out to what should be, on paper at least, an all offense track meet with scores on every third pass. Benn, Fayson, Cumberland Jenkins, and the seemingly hundreds of other quality wideouts will be catching (hopefully) well thrown balls from Juice and Eddie, and burn the very much unknown secondary.

What I am going to be looking for most is the hyped developement of Leshoure and Ford at RB, the defensive line should be the strength of the defense, and if they can break a few big ones up the middle, the offense might be even better than hoped (or the defense even worse.)

Coverage of course will have a pre and post game, and the mandatory open thread.
