Illini vs Minnesota Openthread: Don't stop us now

Illinois Fighting Illini at Minnesota Golden Gophers, Nov 7, 2009 11:00 AM CST

Now that we have made believers out of everyone again, it is time to actually follow up a win with another win. Lucky(?) for us we are going up against an equally streaky and bi-polar team in Minnesota. Tim Brewster may have a giant football shaped locker room, but we have heart, grit, stick-to-it-iveness and many other sports cliches on our side.

Just remember the philosophy of the day is run run run and then a high % pass. It worked two years ago, and hopefully it will work again today. Also Corey Liuget sitting on Adam Weber wouldn't hurt either,

Enough talk though, FOOTBALL.

Will the real Fighting Illini please stand up?

Where did this team come from? What a damn good first half! Too bad about Juice though.

You're the fail to my win?

Jason Ford, Justin Green, Mikel Leshoure

suddenly we have powerful and fast running backs coming out of our ass.

I wouldn't take it all back. This team played like total bullshit for the first half of the season.

It’s not all his fault, but he had a team to win with and didn’t.

in other news,

Iowa is without Stanzi the manzi, do the dreams of a Big Ten national championship die in the cornfields of Iowa?

Unless they have a pile of four-leaf clover on their side of the field.

That’s the problem with just barely winning games, sooner or later you’re not gonna pull one out.

"Win another game, and it's called a WINNING STREAK.

“It HAS happened before.”

I knew things were going to go well when I saw Jason Ford’s first run. From the 20, he goes to the 24 and turns some dude facing him up into mush . . . dude landed on his FACE! 17-yard run . . . and momentum early.

Dude is a fucking HORSE!

Had to hang on for dear life, but that was fun to watch.

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.
