Jereme Richmond is the emo, metal, and great at basketball.

So I know this is somewhat old news and what not, but I don't care, its a slow day and I need something to post. Earlier this month the very highly touted 2010 recruiting class signed there letters of intent, among them Meyers Leonard, Crandall Head, and Super-Recruit Jereme Richmond. Who was last seen doing this:

Big deal right? We already knew how stellar and kick ass next years Freshmen were going to be. Well I finally got around to looking at some of the pictures from signing day and I can across this gem from Jereme's signing event.

While most people do something boring like where some apparel from the college to which they are headed, Richmond is rocking an Avenged Sevenfold T-shirt, the Emo/Goth/Metal band known to angry teenagers everywhere. If you are not familiar with the band the feature such memorable albums such as City of Evil and songs like Beast and the Harlot. Even better the band members are named things like M Shadows, Synyster Gates, and, I am not kidding Zacky Vengeance. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Jereme for choosing Illinois for his education, and personally thank him for bringing some much needed personality and fun to the otherwise stiff and businesslike process of basketball recruiting. If anything, I am disappointed in Meyers Leonard for not wearing a Slipknot T-shirt. So Mr Richmond, this one is for you.

Don't insult Jereme by calling him emo

Also, should be noted that it was Brandon Paul that hit the clutch free throws

Avenged Sevenfold is awful.

Hopefully Richmond is NOT awful at basketball though. I don’t think he will be.

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.

Not only

is he trying to bring some personality, but I think it looks like he’s trying to bring back wedge hairstyles all by himself. Doesn’t matter as long as he’s as good as advertised.
