Yes, yes I know I wont be here, but I will be watching the Replay tonight when I get home on ESPN 360, and when I do I expect to see hundreds of comments to make up for my dereliction of duty.

Some keys tonight for me will be

  • Brandon Paul going off on another opponent
  • D.J. Richardson going off on another opponent.
  • Seeing just how many big men Bruce rotates into the equation tonight. We have already seen Semrau and Cole get alot more minutes than in the past, and Tyler Griffey even getting some quality minutes. As fast as these freshmen are playing, it is going to wind alot of our big guys.
  • Seeing how well the two biggest guys, Mike Tisdale and Mike Davis, attack the boards, its really the last piece we really need out of those two, mostly on the offensive end.

Lets get a sell out while we are at it too. Its not for fun anymore, its the real deal.

Tip off is at 7, on ESPN360. I will do my best not to secretly have it open on my laptop.
Check out the game thread over at Huskie Blog Red and Black Attack too

Overall, a good game by the Illini.

A couple of notes:
-Defense looked good, got good ball pressure and blocked some shots.
-Achilles heel of this team is still getting rebounds. A good offensive rebounding team will tear the Illini apart.
-Offense looked good under Dmac. He has really grown into his leadership role this offseason. He and Mike Davis are playing very well together. Still need to limit the turnovers, though.
-DJR and BP are freakish athletes. BP was absolutely on fire in the first half.
- Tisdale, though improved, still looks a little tentative on the offensive end. Although with so many weapons, I guess that’s ok.
- The young guys like to run. Awesome.

I agree with everything

Defense was very aggressive but the rebounding was terrible. Come Big Ten season we could get destroyed based on how we hit the boards tonight.

However we have lots of time to work on that until then. Brandon Paul amazed me. Dmac played completely differently than last year. His ball distribution was sexy to watch; a few mistakes, but very good performance.

That he is.

One day, David Backes and Albert Pujols will combine forces to become the most awesome piece of violent force known to man.
